Pumpkin Pepper Brownies

Fall is in full swing, and that means pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin until can’t take it anymore.  Then just when you are sick of pumpkin everything switches to peppermint and eggnog.  But, we’ve got a couple months left of fall (technically), so don’t bust out the candy canes yet because we’ve got a lot more pumpkin to get through.

This is a unique recipe because it incorporates cayenne pepper to give the brownies just a little zing.  Pumpkin is very versatile, especially when combined with chocolate, and the cayenne is the perfect thing to spice it up.

Here is the original recipe, enjoy!

Pumpkin Cookies

I hope you like orange because October is in full swing, which means we’re keeping it at the pumpkin patch again this week with pumpkin cookies.  I like how these turned out, because I often end up over-estimating the bake-time for cookies, burning the bottoms.  But I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out just right.

Here’s where I got the original recipe, enjoy!

Fudgy Cake Pops

I decided to try something new yesterday.  I was a little nervous about trying cake pops because the ones in Starbucks are so beautiful and I am not super confident in my cake decorating ability.  It never turns out looking as good as the pictures in the recipe do.  But, I figured the only way I could get better is by trying.  Plus, I was teaching Sunday School again and I couldn’t really imagine kids loving any snack more than one that combines cake and lollipops.  Maybe cake in an ice cream cone?  So I used my new cake pop pan and set to make the recipe found on the back of the label for the pan (found here: https://www.nordicware.com/recipe/fudgy-cake-pops/#.VDHb91aFUlI).

The result may not have been quite as beautiful as the recipe pictures, but I’d still say they turned out pretty good!  The kids definitely liked them, and hopefully my co-workers will like them tomorrow as well.
