Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Brownies AND Chocolate Covered Strawberry Fudge

Hi all,

It’s been a while since I posted a new recipe, so I’ll make this one a double whammy.  In my experience if there is one thing people seem to love even more than cookies, it’s probably raw cookie dough.  The only problem with raw cookie dough is those pesky bacteria-laden eggs.  But now we have a rather obvious solution:  egg free cookie dough.  Another problem quickly arise though which is: how do you eat raw cookie dough without making a mess?  Similarly to salsa, cookie dough needs some sort of vehicle to effectively make it to your mouth.  That’s where the brownie comes in.  Cookie-dough laden brownies.  It’s Presidents Day and I don’t think you can get much more American than that.

Here is the recipe, enjoy!

Speaking of holidays, I couldn’t let Valentine’s Day weekend pass without making something pink and this Strawberry fudge seemed to fit the ticket pretty well.  There’s something magical about chocolate and strawberries.  I hope that your Valentine’s Day was filled with both.

Grandmother’s Oatmeal Coconut Cookies

To be honest, this is not a recipe that my grandmother made.  However, I’m going to assume that whoever originally posted the recipe had a grandmother who did make these cookies.  My own (maternal) grandmother baked many delicious things and probably would’ve made these if I’d asked her to though.  My (paternal) grandmother is talented in many ways, but I have to say I’ve never known her to be much of a baker.  She’s an extraordinary artist so I’ll bet if I’d asked her to paint a picture of these cookies she would’ve done that though.

So  I am grateful to whoever the original “grandmother” was who came up with this recipe.  These cookies were very popular when I brought them to work with me.

Here’s the recipe!
